Despite appearances, however, the Salivraster is gentle and playful. Its intelligence is dismal and of its very few instincts, none are the slightest bit sensible or helpful. They have a particular affinity for covering their eyes, regardless of the nature of the social activity at hand. Their moods range from muted joy to muted disappointment. In fact, most of the things that go through their minds could be described as "muted".
